What we liked: The view The location The heated bathroom floor What we didn't like: The lack of heat. There were four portable heaters in the unit. None of them put out much heat. Built on a very steep hillside. The parking location was many steps above the unit. We did find a walkway that lead to a driveway on the same level as the unit. We used that when we left even though we were not supposed to park our vehicle there when loading. The entry drive to the place has limited visibility. My wife was always nervous on the drive in and out.

My fiance & I were due to stay at Villa del Lago in March as part of our wedding trip to New Zealand however due to conflict in the Middle East our flights were cancelled therefore the trip and wedding have also been cancelled. We reached out to Villa Del Lago to request a refund due to circumstances, as we had pay for a refundable booking, however the company were uncompassionate and blunt and advised that we would not get a refund regardless of circumstance. Hotels.com also tried to resolve this issue for us but again Villa del Lago bluntly advised they were keeping our money. The lack of compassion and human decency given the circumstances and the hotel knowing we were staying for our wedding astounds me. Avoid at all costs.

We stayed in Villa #10, the views were amazing! Everything about the villa was perfect. It was clean, thoughtfully furnished and well equipped with everything needed for our 5 night stay. Car parking was alongside our villa so easy to unpack and repack the car. Last year we stayed at The Rees and had a very disappointing experience, we are so pleased that this year we booked Villa del Lago as the difference is immense!! The accommodation is far superior. Thanks to the team at Villa del Lago for our stay, we won’t hesitate to return when next in Queenstown.
