Balmoral Motel

We booked a two bedroom unit for an overnight stay on our way to Stewart Island. The unit was clean, tidy and warm. Comfortable beds. Great service and local information. Walking distance to town, supermarkets and good restaurants.

Reception on arrival was very friendly, and the reception area contained information pertaining to many activities and attractions. A great guest compendium was also supplied in the room. Room was of a studio type, which was spacious and very well laid out, Contained a sofa, table, and chairs, as well as a wonderfully comfortable bed. It had also been pre-heated by the receptionist prior to our arrival. Exceptional service. It also had a wonderful kitchenette which contained a microwave. Ensuite bathroom was a marvel itself. It is divided into three areas, with a toilet at one end, a shower at the other and a hand basin in between. The shower had exceptional pressure and heat. The room was noticeably quiet, despite the Motel being located on the main road for those travelling into Invercargill from the North. Also, it is an excellent location for those continuing their journey either to Central Otago or to the Airport. Also very handily located for the Invercargill Shopping Centre. Located only a five-minute car journey from the centre of the township, where there is a plentiful range of options for meals. Excellent Wi-Fi.

Good location on the edge of the town. Around 20/25 mins walk to the town centre, where the famous E Hayes shop with its large historic motorbike collection (inc Burt Munroe's bike). The lovely Queens Park Gardens are a similar walking distance Nice modern well equipped room with well fitted kitchen area, settee and table. Plenty of restaurants (of various ethnic foods) in the town centre and area. Would consider staying here if touring the area again
