It had a nice location right by the lake. The breakfast was okay, but nothing special. The continental breakfast was missing eggs - they could only be booked with the Chinese buffet breakfast - very strange.

This is a large hotel. It’s all about the location. Just across the road from the lake, an easy walk to town, plenty of parking. Of course, it is a base for trips to Milford Sound so lots of tourist /coach groups. I think it will get very busy in peak season. Long corridor leads to the rooms & stairs. It felt a little dated as did the room. Our Lake View room was located on the ground floor. Spacious, clean & we had 2 large beds (don’t know why!) as we didn’t request this. It was an ok room. Buffet breakfast had a good selection but again full of large tour groups. The bar area was lovely. Staff were helpful & friendly. Overall, just needs a bit of tlc. Would stay again but aware that it may get busy

We stayed 1 evening as part of a 3 day tour of the Southern Island. The room was quite dated but clean. Unfortunately the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and probably just needed a new mattress. The bathroom had been updated and was lovely - hopefully they update the rooms next. The staff was friendly. We did not eat at the onsite restaurant for dinner but others from our tour did and said it was quite good.
