Waimahana Apartments

Got an Airbnb here, apartment 13. Was very comfortable with a full kitchen and amenities such as a gym, sauna, hot tub and heated pool. Right on the shores of Lake Taupo and close to the city centre. Secure basement parking also. Highly recommended.

We stayed in this apartment during the weekend of the V8's in Taupo. It was a nice, tidy, clean and large room. It had a keypad lock - no need for keys which was super handy. It had a well stocked kitchen and a double shower which was great. Parking was great, with assigned spots in the basement. Check in and out is all contactless, we received good communication of how to check in and out. The only draw back was that the couch wasn't very comfy, there was only 1 mirror in the room and the vanity was quite small. But otherwise a great stay.

My wife and I spent a long weekend in apartment 8 at Waimahana with some really good friends. This apartment has the best views in the complex as it is on the top floor and has views to the south and also out over the lake into Taupo township. There is a bbq on the deck which we used each night. Easy access into the carpark and then to the apartment. This apartment has two allocated parks in the underground carpark. The apartment has 3 bedrooms with the master having an ensuite. There is a large open plan kitchen, dining, and lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you need for a long term stay. There are several TVs with the one in the lounge having sky. We made regular use of the main pool and the spa. We are staying again later in the year and will use the sauna and gym on our next visit. Yes this apartment should get a five star rating but unfortunately it was not to be. The toilet in the main bathroom had been shut off and was awaiting a part for repairs. A plumber was called and the best outcome was for the toilet to be left continuously running. The other negative was the number of blown lamps in the down lights. 9 in total not going including 2 on the deck which made it very dark for cooking on the bbq. Without these problems it would be one of the nicest apartments that I have stayed in. Look forward to our next stay and can hopefully give a five star review.
