Room was reasonably clean, but there was a dreadful smell when opening the cupboard doors int he kitchen area. I had to wash anything I used as I did not want to trust cleanliness. Hot water very slow to get to the room. As has been commented the walls are thin and sound from neighbouring rooms can be heard. No facilities on site. On arrival I was simply handed a key and that was the "welcome". As Reception is staffed for limited hours, I had to put key into a box when I left. No check of rooms during stay - bin was overflowing before I left. Nowhere to put recycling. I realise that accommodation in the area is limited, but I would suggest avoiding this property.

The motel is located along Cook Flat Road that leads to viewpoint over the Fox glacier. It is a austere-looking single-story structure. There is some parking space but it didn’t feel adequate for the number of units. Our unit, at the back, was quite spacious with ample storage space and small kitchenette. We had a double and single beds inside. They were very comfortable. We had an access to a small lawn outside but inclement weather prevented us from utilising it. The walls are quite thin so you can hear louder conversations next door. Good tip about earplugs in the earlier comments. Bathroom was of standard size, with a walk-in shower. TV programme selection was basic. WiFi signal was good. The motel didn’t really offer any meals, other than some basic continental breakfast items, so it was either over-booked cafes or the grocery store in the centre of the village, about 10 minutes walk.

Very clean and comfortable room. Guest laundry was great and the sunset views of Mt Tasman and My Cook were awesome. A lovely place to stay
