over our two week trip, we stayed in nine 2-bedroom motel/apartments. Gables was the best, and it was our first experience in SI. while checking in, the owner mentioned she had turned on the heat to have the room comfortable for us. And it was, a warm and welcoming apartment. it wasn't towards the end of our trip did i realize how well guests are care for at the Gables. Its kitchen was the only one where the mugs, plates and bowls are of the same set. They were clean, new looking. Its bath towels were bright white and fluffy.

Gables Motor Lodge was a great stay with clean and tidy motel with quiet units. Great and friendly reception. Good parking out side unit. Adequate kitchen with two element cooking top and microwave. Shower over spa bath and quality linen and comfortable bed. Will stay again next year.

Solo traveler that stayed for one night in Feb’24. Up to this point, Gables Motor Lodge is my favorite accommodation that I’ve stayed in. The room was incredibly clean and they’ve made some updates making the room feel more modern. It did not have a standard air conditioner, but did have an InstaChill fan if needed or you can leave your windows open. The water pressure and temperature were perfect. I enjoyed the area and walked around the neighborhood. The neighborhood is very clean, there is at least one restaurant/bar down the main road and a larger grocery store all within walking distance. Gables Motor Lodge is next door to High Park and shares one reception area. Parking is free, with limited spaces. If you’re looking for a place to call home for a night or two, I definitely recommend adding Greymouth and Gables Motor Lodge as a stop to your list.
