Thon Hallingdal

On my way from Bergen to Oslo I had chosen to stay in this hotel. A little accident that it became this hotel, but it turned out to be a good choice. Good rooms with good bed, good breakfast and good staff. Here you can safely stay.

I stayed here for one night while attending Marit Larsen’s show on April 25, 2026, and I had a wonderful experience. The room was comfortable, and the service was excellent throughout my stay. After checking out the next day, I asked the reception if I could spend a few hours in the common area while waiting for my bus. Instead, the receptionist checked the room availability and kindly offered to let me stay in my room until my bus departure at 5 PM. I was truly touched by this gesture. He also offered to prepare a tasting drink for me, which was both beautiful and refreshing. It’s such a thoughtful surprise. Thank you so much for your kindness and exceptional service. If you’re visiting Ål, I recommend staying at Thon Hotel Hallingdal.

Poor air and mould smell in the room. The air conditioning is noisy so it sounds like someone is running concrete mixers in the neighboring room.
