I wouldn't rush to come back to this hotel. We were kept waiting 45 mins in reception when we came to check-in. Our room "wasn't ready". Check-in was from 3pm at that was the time we were there. There was no apology from any of the reception staff or no offer of a complimentary coffee whilst we waited. We kept having to remind them we were still waiting. The reception staff seemed very stretched when it came to check in time. Our room overlooked the street and we were concerned about noise. Reception said as we were staying mid-week we should be OK as "Friday and Saturday were the "noisy nights". Check if you are staying at the weekend that you ask for a room that is not overlooking the street! The rest of our stay was nice, and the reception staff were very helpful after the initial poorly handled check-in. The room decor is dated and a real mixture of patterns textures and colours. Not what we expected from a high end Scandinavian hotel. Some odd features like a plastic panel behind the bed's headboard that lights up with a very bright white light - like a fluorescent tube light. Not soothing at all! The hotel seemed to be for large coach/tour groups. There were limited places to eat in the hotel due to an extensive refurbishment programme. The breakfast buffet is great however. So our time at the hotel was mixed. The central location is good but some rooms will be noisy because of that. We have stayed at better hotels but also at some poorer ones as well.

A very nice hotel in the city center, somewhat anonymous, but definitely one of the better and more "classy" stays you can get in Oslo. I saw absolutely zero kids here, and there was total calmness in the hallways. I heard nothing from other guests, but I think the place was fully booked. Excellent breakfast, only thing is that their carpeting makes it hard to roll a heavy suitcase.
