KLINGENBERG FJORD

Nice location, but the hotel is old and worn out. The rooms are clean and totally ok, but not especially welcoming. The lady at the front desk was not very nice and knew very little about the area. Breakfast was totally ok, but quite boring. Most of it was probably bought at the Kiwi on the other side of the street. The bacon was very good. We had dinner at the hotel last night and it was disappointing. We ordered fish soup/Boullebaisse. The raw materials were shrimp, shellfish and crepe tails in lake from box. Pretty tough. The fish in the soup was ok. Small portion ift the price.

This hotel features the most stunning panoramic view of the sognefjord and of the mountains and waterfalls surrounding it. Be sure to ask for a room facing the fjord. The owner and staff were incredibly hospitable. This hotel and the town of Ardl is the jumping off point for many fabulous hiking trails and we were often the only ones on the trail. They have a fabulous chef and dinner was standout. We spent 3days/2 nights here and wished we could have stayed longer.

This was a few years ago. The first room they had not bothered to replace a window that could not be closed completely. The other room we got it was pretty dirty in the shower. The hotel manager acted like a little shit young when I asked if I could get MEIERI BUTTER for having the butter lying out in room temperature. To use it on the bread. They keep the butter in the fridge overnight and take it out in the morning. Then it's stone hard. When I asked the boss to get dairy powder, he came up with something completely different. He probably didn't show what dairy butter was. He was excited to learn something new. NO LIFT.
