Charming older hotel with a great location on the Sognefjord. Staff were friendly and they provided top service. We ate oven-baked steak for dinner, it tasted delicious. We thank you for a pleasant stay and will be happy to return.

I went on an organized trip and I was unlucky enough to get one of the old, unrenovated rooms in the hotel and, really, they are downright bad. I was touched by a room on the top floor without elevator, loft, with a window the size of a writing paper that had on one side the shower and washing (you could not enter) and on the other the toilet (with the lofted ceiling you could not stand). Small, uncomfortable and dusty beds and, as expected, barely plugged in the room. In addition, we were unlucky that "there was a bacteria" in the water and could not make use of drinking water. Here it must be said that the behavior of the hotel employees was 10, providing bottles of water. Correct and varied breakfast.

This property is beautifully located fjordside, but is run down and outdated. They’re going for rustic/historic lodge vibes but it’s just badly in need of repair and some updates. The food is delicious and the detached sauna is great. It does not have a “spa” as advertised.
