Sognefjord

Visited on a Trafalgar tour. The tour director warned us the day of arrival that the hotel was outdated, which is putting it mildly. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The dinner was good but the breakfast buffet was minimal and the eggs were not hot. The room lacked a coffee service, facial tissue and safe, which we have found in other hotels in Norway. Also, the hotel’s ice machine was broken. While a great, this is not a four or five star property.

Arrived late in the afternoon, with a room for 4, overlooking the fjord. We were able to see the end of the day and observe the lights on the other side of the fjord while lying from our bed. Very pleasant welcome and very helpful. Good dinner and varied and complete breakfast.. A very attentive French speaker in the hotel. In short, we recommend.

I think this stay in this hotel was one of the worst hotel experiences I could have had. I went there as part of an organized road trip, so I don't know if this hotel is expensive or not, but one thing is certain, I wouldn't spend more than €50 a night to go there. This hotel was built and then never renovated, updated or anything, it was left in its original state. It reminds me of the sordid motels you can find on the roads in the USA. In addition, this hotel promised a beautiful view of the Sognefjord, we had a view of the hotel parking lot and the main road to Leikanger, great! Obviously with all the noise that goes with it since the soundproofing is 0. Same for the neighbors in the next room, we could hear everything. Pipes as old as time that slam and creak. Not to mention the fact that there were 3 of us in the room, there were 2 decent beds and the 3rd bed was an extra foldable bed. The 3rd person present was unable to sleep because the bed was so uncomfortable. Furthermore, when we entered the room, there was a very disturbing smell, which remained despite the windows being open. Speaking of windows, the opening system did not allow the windows to really be opened for ventilation. It was a really difficult night. Now let's tackle breakfast. There were so few of us in the hotel (4 couples...) that they didn't bother to make a varied buffet and everything that was present was very industrial. The only positive point is that the reception staff are very welcoming and warm. I do not recommend this hotel at all.
