Radisson Sas Caledonien Kristiansand

The hotel is pretty run-down and the cleanliness of the rooms leaves a lot to be desired. At check-in, there is no information even for status customers, even when asked. I don't know when the room was last cleaned or repairs were carried out. The power (circuit breaker) in the room went off several times.

We chose this hotel because it looked very nice and had a central location. The comfort on both sides – the hotel is centrally located, while the area is quiet and pleasant. We stayed in a Superior room with balcony, and it was very nice to be able to sit outside in the nice weather. The view towards the water was also great. The room had a good size but the location of the bed, TV and sofa was a bit impractical. When we checked in there was missing hand soap in the bathroom, and it was also not filled with Kleenex during the three nights we stayed there. In addition, a clean towel, after it was replaced, was placed on top of the toilet, which was not very hygienic. Breakfast was quite simple, but no special experience. The selection covered the most necessary, but we have eaten significantly better hotel breakfasts elsewhere. For the price this hotel takes, we expected a more exclusive experience and better follow-up of details. The stay was nice overall, but we did not feel that we got value for the money. That’s why we’ll probably choose another hotel next time.

Placed near the city centre, easy to get around. Good parking and a very nice hotel for a couples trip to Kristiansand.
