Finca Lerida Coffee Plantation & Boutique Hotel

This is my 2nd review on the same stay (the one on Google was for the restaurant only). I really love this place and after not being able to visit the last 7 years I was excited to come back again and rented a suite with jacuzzi. Unfortunately the jacuzzi wasn't working and had a water leak, so over two hours in our room, two staff tried their best to fix and clean without success. The stay was disappointing compared to all my previous stays since many years ago. I still consider the place one of the top options in Boquete, but management and client service fell short this time. A non functioning jacuzzi with a broken hose is lack of maintenance, sorry. I filled the survey and was expecting a reply for the last 2+ weeks and not even an apology note came back. Front desk gave me some kind words and the restaurant offered free deserts.

Overall a pleasant stay. Our room (Junior suite 2) was comfortable with all the amenities you need. But it all feels a bit run down eg the sofa in our room was grubby and uncomfortable. The room was very big - just a massive big space with nothing. Inside, it was cold but they won’t light a fire due to smoke. They provide an electric blow heater which is very drying and unhealthy. Positives were a comfy bed, lovely lady who brought us a hot water bottle each night and the outdoor fire. We had mixed experiences in the restaurant - food generally okay but service hit and miss. Often 4/5 staff outside chatting, larking around while guests are waiting. This inconsistent service was our experience throughout our 4 days. Sometimes very helpful and kind greetings, other times walk past and ignore you. Gardens are lovely and we had a great day with local guide Cesar ( through EcoCircuitos Panama) hunting the elusive quetzal. No luck though.

We stayed in the Centennial House and the Vintage Rooms. The super spacious house, with three bedrooms, two rooms and large kitchen. There is only one bathroom downstairs for two small bedrooms, and a huge room upstairs with bathroom and two beds. The dining room is a little small and you need tables or chairs to sit in, when it is a large group. The fireplace is spectacular and they light it whenever you want. Outside there is a lot of patio and places to be.
