Residencia Boracay

Check in was smooth and ataff are all friendly. The best room is in the main wing second or third floor which has a view of the sea . Toom is very spacious and clean. Breakfast though was very disappointing. Very poor choices, hotdog, and tocono for mains. And we came for breakfast when it was time to refill. All the containers were empty. Took them almost a long time to refill.

We found the rooms to be clean albeit old and quite dated. The housekeeping can only do their best given the state of the furniture and finishings. The rooms were giving “retreat house vibes” and not in the best way. However, the shining beacon that saved Residencia was its staff. They were super friendly and very helpful. They gave the impression that they really enjoy their jobs and that they were one big happy family. From the amazing kitchen and wait staff at their flagship restaurant, Sole, the warm smiles that greeted us every morning at the breakfast buffet, to the helpful housekeeping staff and the lovely ladies at reception, our every request was catered to and we really felt like we were part of their family. Food at the restaurant and during breakfast was not only delicious but also very reasonably priced. The reception staff catered to our every need, providing unlimited beach towels for our beach swims, lending us umbrellas when it rained and even giving us plastic bags for our wet clothes. The hotel is located at the quieter end of station 1 near Discovery and is only one tricycle ride away from station 2 and D’mall. Location is unbeatable and given its pricier neighbours is very competitive. As for the rooms, refurbishment to refresh and tidy it up would do it a world of good especially the bathrooms. All in all, an excellent stay from a customer service point of view let down by sub par rooms. Basic accomodation for a reasonable price. If you are after a luxurious stay, this is not the place. Otherwise, it will do.

The place appears to be basic at the start but gave us a lot of surprises during our stay. We got the seaview room with balcony and lounge chairs. We enjoyed the view. The room is big and can accommodate 4pax. The small room inside our room with exhaust fan where we can hang the wet clothes is a nice addition. The bathroom is big and I can say more than basic. It exceeds expectation. The staff service is superb, and everyone made us feel at home. The food in the restaurant is good! The place is beachfront in station 1, and I think this is the only one in the area that renders this kind of service within reasonable price. I hope they can add a swimming pool soon but with or without it, we will come back!
