Location is located close to the city center and the major tourist spots in Baguio. Hotel staff were all very helpful and nice. The rooms were clean. However, they were outdated and need to have some upgrades done especially to the bathrooms. Do be mindful that the hotel DOES NOT have air conditioning. This hotel is great for people who are on a budget or with families. Over good experience and relatively affordable prices.

Ms. Elisa Escobar
General Manager
Azalea Hotels & Residences Baguio
Dear Ms. Escobar,
Good day.
I am writing to formally share my recent experience at Azalea Hotels and Residences Baguio, as well as several concerns that I believe require your attention.
Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the warm initial welcome upon arrival. The greeting at the vehicle drop-off was pleasant; however, this level of service was not consistently observed upon reaching the front desk, where no similar welcome or engagement was extended.
My primary concern relates to our room assignment. Prior to booking, I had clearly indicated in the reservation notes that we were celebrating our 10th anniversary and requested, if possible, a room on a higher floor with a balcony and a pleasant view. Unfortunately, we were assigned a room facing a firewall, without a balcony. What was more concerning was that no one from your reservations team reached out to reconfirm or manage expectations regarding this request. In many hotels within your category, it is standard practice to review and communicate special requests with guests. Had we been informed in advance that the request could not be accommodated, we would have reconsidered proceeding with the booking. This reflects a gap in your reservations process.
Another issue involved my personal belongings. During check-out, I was asked by your front desk staff, Ms. Dannica, to provide a valid ID as I had misplaced the incidental receipt. While I complied, I later discovered that my cards, including my driver’s license, were not returned. When I contacted the hotel, I was surprised that the same staff member immediately stated that my items were not with them, without first verifying. This caused unnecessary distress and raises concern regarding proper handling of guest belongings.
Additionally, I was surprised to find that my LinkedIn profile had been viewed by one of your staff members, Ms. Nicole Ann Regis from Reservations. Upon inquiry, she explained that she searched for my name online to check my address and accessed my LinkedIn profile. I find this action inappropriate and concerning, as it raises questions regarding guest data privacy and professional boundaries.
Furthermore, I was informed by Ms. Nicole that I would receive a call from the Duty Manager on March 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, I did not receive any call at the agreed time. Despite following up via message, I received no response. It was only after I personally called and followed up that I was eventually contacted at 5:14 PM by your Duty Manager, Mr. Nikko, who apologized but advised that updates would instead be sent via email. The delay and lack of proactive communication were disappointing, especially given the urgency and number of concerns raised. Citing high occupancy as a reason for the delay is understandable operationally, but it should not compromise timely service recovery, particularly for a guest with multiple unresolved concerns.
I would also like to raise a concern regarding weekend operations. I was informed that only supervisors were on duty, with no Duty Manager or Manager on Duty present. In a hotel of your standard, weekends are typically peak periods requiring strong leadership presence. While I understand that supervisors are expected to handle operations, the number of issues encountered suggests that additional managerial oversight may have been necessary.
Overall, this experience fell significantly short of expectations for a hotel of your category. We had chosen your property to celebrate a milestone our 10th anniversary anticipating a memorable and seamless stay. Unfortunately, the series of service lapses affected what should have been a special occasion.
I am sharing this feedback in the hope that it will serve as an opportunity for improvement, particularly in the areas of reservations handling, guest communication, data privacy, and operational supervision.
Thank you for taking the time to review this matter. I look forward to your response.
