Rio Grande Laoag Resort Hotel

I booked the place simply because of the fact that it's has a nice view of the river. I didn't care about the bad reviews i read and still proceed with the reservation. It took some time for me to get access as the caretaker didn't hear the door bell ring. The caketaker was kind but didn't let me me enter the room because i was 30-minute early and so that i won't pay early check-in fee. She was kind but lacks knowledge about Ilocos and has to inquire with her boss all the time through text and calls. She's the only person you get to see 24/7. No security guards. I'd love to give the place a nice reviews but my experience is not really nice. The resort needs maintenance to win back customers. The room has a distinct smell - more of like rice hulls. The tap water wasn't clean at all. I'm not horrified as it could be because of the fact that it was not used for a very long time. Looks like very few people actually book the place. No Wi-Fi and TV as advertised. I was told there'd internet but i have to be close to the pool. My phone didn't recognize any but i didn't complain anymore. I have some very nice photos of the place but thanks to phone processing you might actually think it's amazing. I just hope that this will have a massive refurbishment because the place has a potential. It quite far from the city center so you might not get the best data. If you want just peace then this might be it. Look elsewhere if you want the best service ever.

when we checked in last May 2018, We had a seminar and the food was good and cheap. additional attractions that sooth our eyes is he view of Paoay River as we ate our breakfast. The place was peaceful at night and very much accessible to different tourist's spot.

Dirty tap water from check in. This place needs a lot of improvement to live up to its name as Rio GRANDE! Houserules should include the limit of noise so as not to disturb other guests, like people talking so loud as early as 5 am as they have to travel to pagudpod.
