We recently stayed at this hotel as a group of 17 from the uk. It was perfect. The staff couldn’t be any more helpful, the food delicious, rooms clean and spacious and the pool areas lovely and relaxing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and couldn’t recommend this hotel enough to people looking to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

As a business owner myself I don’t really like doing reviews as I would much rather do it in person, however that was not an option for our stay & this hotel is worth a review.
We stayed here for 4 nights to end our 3 week Philippines trip.
There was a big group of us, so we had arranged with the hotel for transport from the port to the hotel. The driver arrived promptly & was so friendly, we had a slight hiccup as the luggage & ourselves couldn’t fit in one van. The driver quickly rectified this & found another van so us & our luggage were on the move quickly.
When we arrived at the hotel, reception was closed, but the staff on duty checked us in & carried our luggage to our individual rooms.
Rooms
We stayed in the Elliz Villa which was very spacious for myself & my husband. It’s also situated nicely above restaurant & pool & just above us was the second pool & spa. We had two king size beds, shower room, toilet, sink, a fridge which is stock daily with soft drinks, beer & water, a TV, wardrobe with towels & robes, table & chairs, toiletries & a safe.
We had a lovely balcony equipped with table & chairs, stools & two rocking chairs which over looked restaurant & pool which also gave us stunning views of mountains & the sea.
We also had a little family of cats living on the balcony & being cat lovers it was great fun playing with the kittens in the mornings 🥰
The rooms were clean & tidy, they were cleaned & the fridge restocked daily unless specifically asked not to.
We did had a resident gecko 🦎 but he was friendly enough & no bother during our stay.
Food
The food was nice, a good choice ranging from English classics like cottage pie, to Indian, Chinese, Italian & of course Filipino.
The food is cooked fresh & always arrived hot, took about 20-30 mins from when you ordered but definitely worth the wait.
You have to order breakfast the night before, & have the option of having it in your room or in the restaurant. There is a good selection including bacon & eggs, cereal, omelet, rice etc. There is also the option of American pancakes (5) with syrup & water melon, but this is an additional 150 peso (approx £1.90) they are definitely worth it. You get juice, coffee & hot chocolate included.
All the food & drinks are very reasonably priced & you have the option of paying straight away or putting the on your room.
Amenities
There is two pools one in the middle of complex & the other an infinity pool in the lower area which includes a slide & water sprinklers. There is also sun-beds, tables & chairs along with toilet & shower facilities.
There is a bar area which is not in operation but the staff are so attentive they are constantly coming down to ask if you need anything.
We didn’t use the spa but one of our group had a massage & said it was the best they had ever had ( & he works in a spa hotel back home).
Any amenities you want you use, if you let the concierge know they will sort them out for you with a little bit of notice.
Staff
The staff worked tirelessly, they could not have been any more friendly or helpful during our stay.
Our group ranged from 18-60 & we all had a great time.
There are quite a few steps to & from the various rooms & amenities but that’s to be expected from a mountain resort. A few in our group had mobility issues & didn’t find this a huge problem.
The resort is quite remote it’s about 30-40 minutes drive depending on traffic to the hustle & bustle but if you ask the hotel they will be happy to help arrange transport for you.
Obviously it may be a little different not in a huge group but we kept saying it felt like our own private villa with staff. It was super relaxed & you didn’t feel like you were constantly being watched like so many big hotels or places in the UK.
If you want a relaxed place with stunning views, friendly staff & good food then this is your place.
We would definitely rebook if we were ever to travel to Bohol again.
Thank you Marquis team for a great end to our trip 🥰

Occupancy of 4 rooms for 2 nights in this resort perched on the heights of Baclayon. The view is simply splendid. the whole bay with in the background Pamalican on one side and Panglao on the other.
The rooms are small cottages with one or more bedrooms (ideal for families) They have terraces where you can have an aperitif with sea views.
the bedding is fine the hot shower works well but the pressure is sometimes random. We still get to wash.
Equipped with minibar and air conditioning. Simple decoration an old hair but everything is clean.
2 swimming pools maintained and clean. 1 with slide and bar/restaurant next door. There is nothing else nearby (no restaurants / shops) but the hotel restaurant offers good cuisine with typical dishes as well as burgers or pizzas. Prices are correct. The staff is as always here kind and always smiling.
We all regretted to stay only 2 nights in this resort so the calm is appreciable. Also less path for a departure to an excursion inland.
However, beware that there are many steps to climb or descend that can be difficult to climb for elderly people or those with walking problems.
Otherwise it is a good plan, and we recommend it.
