The San Antonio Resort is a great place to stay in Roxas. The deluxe room consisted of a double and single bed, with TV, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a balcony overlooking Baybay beach opposite. The swimming pool was big and had a bar/restaurant and not expensive. The resort was clean, the staff were always cheerful and helpful, especially Janelle at breakfast. The breakfast was buffet style, which was great if you were a Filipino, but very limited if you were a foreigner western guest.
Overall, I would definitely recommend San Antonio for your stay in Roxas, Capiz.

I actually really enjoyed the San Antonio Resort… Yes, it’s true that they do have one of their pool under renovation but after hearing the full story, it all makes sense. Unfortunately, the contractor did a terrible job in the repair and it will be worked out ASAP with replacement of the tiles and the water… by the way their other swimming pool is spectacular, I like the way it has two different heights so the deeper pool is a cooler temperature and the shallow pool for when you want to just sit and lounge in some warm water is perfect.… nice variety of different loungers and different chairs for different seating options… They have some stone fish sculptures that turn into fountains… Enjoying the pool at night time is the best because they have neon lighting, fabulous music and a very festive atmosphere with much more happy vibes and happy customers.…… The pool has a view of the lagoon in the backyard on the left side is the villas which is where we stayed with a direct view onto the Lagoon and on the right side evidently are all properties owned by the San Antonio . Some of them are privately Purchased and some of them are for rent rent mostly to Expats so we are going to consider that in future as well for the next visit… In the meantime, the staff honestly I don’t think we’ve had such amazing customer service anywhere else and we’ve done in the Philippines for almost a month…… the free breakfasts are great and there’s a variety every day which is nice because sometimes it’s the same thing every day… Yesterday I had a nice noodle soup along with scrambled eggs and fried egg and rice and fish and today they had so much more exotic and interesting things as well as congee and pancit and different fish… The pool service staff the restaurant staff there are unbelievably attentive and friendly and helpful and they always go above and beyond the call of duty. We hung by the pool yesterday pretty much all day and the staff were always there when we wanted them and gave us privacy when we didn’t need them…..the entire day, including all the drinks - 2 beers and 2 mojitos- and the delicious food we had homemade varieties of Chicharron, which we thought was just an appetizer size, but it turned out It was enough food for the two of us for a massive very filling lunch and it included pork knuckle which we’ve never had before.YUM!!!! When we got the bill It came to the equivalent of Canadian $25. For you Americans out there that’s about $15. Unfortunately, I don’t know why but in the Philippines when you pay with a credit card or just sign to your room there’s never a place to add a tip, which is frustrating when you don’t have any cash on you. So we said I apologize to the staff who totally seemed to not mind somehow I don’t even know if you were in Canada you didn’t Tip they’d be cursing and spitting on you… and then the next day we were checking out, but I left a nice personal note and a healthy tip to thank them for their service because they were amazing… Another nice thing was because of one of my own mixups with my planning and scheduling at the last minute we had to delay the trip and that changed the reservation so they needed us to move from room 308 to room 307 halfway through the five day stay which was no problem for us and the housekeeping staff were very very helpful helping us move… As an apology they showed up with Nice, detailed apology cards, and enough fruit for breakfast for the next three days including six bananas, two massive Fuji apples, the size of baseballs and two Asian pears, almost as big. Thank uuuuuuu! …. in the morning that we checked out, we had already cleaned out our room and left our bags at the front desk and I went for a quick fabulous breakfast and then when we came back to pay our bill at the front desk there was a nice white new San Antonio shuttle bus parked by the front door so I introduced myself to the driver who mentioned he was on his way to Iloilo which is where we were also going. We got to know Joe very well and he is the food and beverage manager, we also got to know his boss and we had a very enjoyable amazing drive door-to-door to our condo that were rented in Iloilo for the cost of just two Starbucks coffees in canada…… 500 pesos or C$11 or six American dollars. That is an amazing amazing deal because we were going to probably pay half that just for a tuck tuck open air (in the pouring rain!) motorcycle ride to the bus station and then we would pay much more than that for a bus ride, which would take almost 5 hours surrounded by strangers and staff who don’t speak English and instead we got amazing door-to-door service and stayed safe and dry for about 2 hours instead of almost 5 hours. Therefore, we were able to check into our condo five hours early and enjoy that much extra vacation time! We also got lots of local information and tourist data from Joe as he pointed out the sites as we drove along, it was much more educational than I expected and my Spouse and I very much enjoyed it. Thank you so much !!!
