I rarely write reviews, but my recent stay at Apo View Hotel left me no choice. It was incredibly frustrating and far from the standard of service one would expect from an established hotel.
First, slow response to calls was a consistent issue. I had to call multiple times (2x and 3x each) before anyone would even acknowledge my requests. When I needed Wi-Fi access for an urgent online meeting, there was absolutely no Wi-Fi provided. I called again around 10 PM, desperate for help, but no one showed up to assist—no sense of urgency, no accountability.
Housekeeping was also a major letdown. They didn’t bother to wipe down the tables or wash the cups—basic cleanliness that any hotel should prioritize.
When asked to name an exemplary employee during my stay, I honestly had to write: NONE! That speaks volumes about the lack of attentiveness and professionalism I experienced.
For a hotel that markets itself as a top choice in Davao, this was unacceptable. Poor service, lack of responsiveness, and a dirty room environment? Definitely not worth the price or the stress.
I won’t be returning, and I won’t recommend this place to colleagues or friends either. Apo View, it’s time to step up. Your guests deserve much better.

Very Disappointing Stay – Poor Front Desk Service
From the moment I arrived at Apo View Hotel, the experience was frustrating. At check-in, there were many staff at the front desk, yet it felt like none of them noticed me. They were assisting other guests—some who were already being helped by another staff—while I was just standing there, waiting to be acknowledged.
Eventually, someone started to check me in, but then another staff member asked for my ID, which I had just given and gotten back from someone else. It was disorganized and slow. We finally got our room, but not without a long wait and incomplete information. Nobody told us the breakfast time—I had to ask, which is something that should be standard during check-in.
The next morning at breakfast, I asked for a cup of coffee. I was surprised when they handed me a white liquid with something red floating on it. It tasted like warm milk. I waited, thinking actual coffee would come—but nothing did. I had to ask again just to get a simple cup of coffee.
Check-out was even worse. There were many guests because of a JS Prom event, so the line was long. My daughter was in line ahead of me—she was second in queue—and I was just behind her. We waited and waited, only to see a staff member assist a man who had just walked up next to us, completely ignoring the line. I had to speak up and ask what was going on, and whether we were even in the correct queue.
Overall, I’m extremely disappointed. The lack of coordination, poor customer service, and disorganization at the front desk made our stay stressful. People who arrived after us were assisted before us multiple times. It felt like we were invisible.
Definitely not the kind of service I expected from a hotel like this.

The room was nice but I was a bit disappointed because our reservation was the pool view but we were given a different room and the air con had some issues on our 2nd day it was dripping and the floor was all wet. The staffs were friendly but there were too many events held in that hotel so there were some requests overlooked since the staffs were all too busy. The soundproofing was terrible we could hear the noises from other rooms, hallway and so as the noise from their event area. It was a good location since it was in the city, the food was delicious and cooked well.
