OYO 106 24h City Hotel

When we checked-in aircon is not working well because it lacks maintenance. My son has to clean the aircon filter and after doing it, it blows cooler air. Can't step the bathroom and use the lavatory. It feels like you are using a public toilet. You can hear the noise from the other rooms.

Heavy traffic going to this place if you're coming from Osmena Highway or Pasay. At night they close the gate going to their basement parking so you would have to take a longer route. You would know right away what the place looks like because of the old-fashioned lobby. They have a smoking area just outside it. Front desk officer already looks "haggard" and tired. I don't really mind about how they look, I just noticed that all the other hotels I've been to the people in the front desk are always neat and looks professional as they always matter when making first impressions. They also have a bellman who will assist you with your luggage going to your room. Their staff are very polite. They have one elevator that doesn't work during wee hours (not sure if they just turn it off during these hours or if it wasn't working when we checked out at 4 A.M.). Hallway looks kind of creepy because of the lighting and old wooden white doors. The room doesn't look exactly like what's in the photos and it looks very gloomy. Room is not well-lit, has an antique smell, small television, and the bathroom doesn't look like it's being maintained properly. We accidentally locked the bathroom door so we called the front desk to have it unlocked. They don't have a key so their staff had to remove the cracked door vent and reached for it from the inside. They have toiletries available for use but their towels don't look very clean as it's no longer white. Bidet is inconvenient to use if you're not used to holding them with your left hand. Heater doesn't work. Bed and sheets were itchy and dusty. I know it's dusty because I have allergic rhinitis and when I tucked under the fleece blanket, its dust particle from the fabric went straight to my nose which made me sneeze. We were not able to rest and sleep very comfortably because we wake up from time to time due to the itch. We only stayed there for 8 hours because we have to leave early in the morning for our drive to Bataan (we came all the way from Laguna). People might say this is what we get for around a thousand pesos but I've been to a much better place to stay for the same amount.

The 24H City Hotel is nice place if you are looking for a overnight stay in manila. The friendly staff greet me when i check-in and provide the quiet room tha i requested with free fast wifi away from loud noise.
