Silver Oaks Suite Hotel

Don't trust its stars (3 stars) it's worth two maximum, this establishment must have been great 15 years ago, but for lack of renovation it's getting old! otherwise ideally located in the Ermita district, in the street of changers, not far walk from Rizal Park and Intramuros, many shops, restaurants, bars nearby. Prefer the rooms facing the back because in front there is traffic and it swarms. The staff in very large numbers, is very careful to make your stay unforgettable. The breakfast served in a beautiful room overlooking the neighborhood and the busy street is quite decent, with a large selection of dishes (service a little slow). The rooms are large and clean, air conditioning is a little tired, good bedding. nice place to "settle down", metro LRT not far, Good wifi.

AMENITIES AND VIEWS (1 out of 3) You have read it right, this Hotel is First in my X-lists, I have seen 2 & 3 Star Hotels in East Africa and they are still better than this, so it was a dismay for me to see all of its imperfections and rated as a 3-Star hotel (according to google map). Upon arrival, lobby was not air-conditioned (was advise that it is being repaired), so you can feel how hot manila was since it was summer. And even if they had an electric fun in the lobby trying to cool down the temperature it didn’t really help. And to see an electric fun in the Lobby was both funny and a disappointment. By the way I pass by and check again the Lobby last 08 June just to see if AC is back, but still it is the same situation (I hope this time it is already back in operation). The room (Standard Room) is obviously old, you can see a lot to be repair, replace and re-paint, same goes to the Bathroom. The room has complimentary water bottle “at least” and it is complete with Dresser, wardrobe, a fridge and a safe but unfortunately both of the fridge and safety box are not working. At the bathroom shower area, it is in partitioned which is good so you don’t see any water spillage in the toilet area, however shower floor drain is always clog. The water heater for shower is ugly to look at but this is something forgivable. Toiletries are better since it is complete with soap-shampoo, toothbrush-toothpaste and a sleeper. I must admit the bed mattress is comfortable, but the pillows were not. The following day for our breakfast, I was shock to see their Breakfast servings. It is the smallest portions that I have seen in a Hotel environment. We are only limited for one coffee each, and everything in the breakfast is a turn off. Location wise it is in a good position, at the heart of Ermita streets. A walk to Robinsons Manila, a 10-minute walk to US Embassy or less than 10-minute walk to Roxas boulevard to see the magnificent Manila Sunset. It is obvious that the hotel is under staff (There’s no security or valet staff to assist you),and I would see the same faces and those faces are serious and never did they smile or greet. Overall My wife and I are not really happy with our stay. All I can see are the imperfections of the hotel, starting from our arrival at the Lobby, coming up in the lift, passing thru the corridors and going inside the bedroom and even taking our breakfast, all I can see are the defects and the lack of quality services that they provide in the Hotel. I hope this review will knock and motivate the management to start flexing their muscle to make this place a proper 3 Star Hotel. And for future Guess, I hope this review will pose as a red flag. Horrible we booked the most expensive suite and the blankets are dirty the walls are dirty the towels are old and have holes there are bugs everywhere they also state mini bar but it’s an empty old fridge with bugs this place is horrible and the breakfast was just a little plate of food no good just do not stay here find somewhere else please
