Coron Reef Pension House

owned and operated by the one of the friendliest and warmest families you'd ever meet in town! this is a nice budget-friendly place for backpackers looking to secure a safe and clean place to stow your gear and get some shut-eye in between those island-hopping adventures. for a minimal fee, you can opt to buy your own ingredients from the local market and have them prepare the dish for you; and they do not disappoint. for those coming in groups, they have large rooms that can accommodate up to 8 people so you can share the expenses and spend more on your adventures. as this place is situated at the center of town, you do not miss out on souvenir hunting, bit of local marketing, and a most interesting night-life either at Coron Bistro which is just across the street from the compound, Seadive which is almost right next to it but with a different entrance path, and the Old House that is located across the market area. as you will have better access to the commute, you can be assured of being able to maximize your time for the trip instead of having to factor in time waiting or looking for transportation. it is not the most luxurious or picture-perfect place in town but for most backpackers, this is as good a place to lay your hat; so to speak. for my particular requirement, being a SCUBA diver, this is a great jump-off point to adventures. and also, they do have an outdoor freshwater pool which is a rarity in town and for this price-point.

The price is great for those who travel in Solo/Group that has a limited budget. Also, the location is good. Almost in the middle of everything you need during your stay in Coron. The room itself is good, has its own comfort room and a good air conditioning.

I think Coron Reef pension is okay if you intend to stay in Coron for 1 night or 2. The accommodation is okay - but of course can be improved. The room I got has a bed with clean sheets and pillows, it has a shower and toilet with no hot water, toilet's flush isn't working and I find it slightly dirty but it was okay since I am not staying for more than a night. I think where the location of the guest house is very good in terms of the proximity of the restos, bars and stores. But don't expect it to have a tip-top facility like the ones available around town. But like I said, it is not bad for the price, and it is OKAY.
