Dolce Vita Hotel And Restaurant

Location: Good location, very close to the airport. We stayed at this hotel twice – on arrival and before departing from the Philippines – and had two different experiences, especially as regards the rooms. The rooms are large enough, clean and have comfortable beds. However, depending on the room, there may be considerable noise pollution. In our case, next to the room was a pump that has started every minute, so it was hard to think of restful sleep (four poster room with pool view). The hotel complex has become old overall and needs renovation. A more modern concept would also benefit the plant – sometimes less is just more. Breakfast: Depending on the selection rather average – it was not really convincing and only toast and egg were edible. Restaurant: Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience as our visit there ended with food poisoning. In addition, the few dishes that were eligible for us were not available. We did not tolerate the food we finally chose (pizza and salad) well and were ultimately doomed Internet: Slowly and partly not available at all. Pool: Clean, however, the environment seems a bit unkempt. The stone “ruin” (presumably intended as a waterfall) is visually unappealing. Personnel: There is room for improvement here. Before our arrival we tried to contact the hotel several times – unfortunately without any feedback. In the immediate vicinity there are opportunities to buy water and snacks, but hardly any restaurants or food offers. The hotel offers an airport shuttle, but only at limited times and at a significantly higher price. We got a taxi at the airport for about 200 PHP – about half the price. Conclusion: For a single night due to proximity to the airport fine and priced acceptable. For longer stays we would not recommend the hotel.

I oriented myself at this property by reviewing the comments and ke reviews. Honestly I found this structure modest, anonymous rooms, good cleanliness for goodness sake but in my opinion it does not deserve all those 5 bullets I found in the reviews. The restaurant best avoided, the sunbeds dirty and badly maintained pool. The beautiful thing is the manicured garden.

We stayed here the night after flying from Manila. The room had plenty of space and was nice and quiet. Breakfast was included which was plain but good. Cheng at reception helped arrange a transfer to El Nido, also ringing our next hotel to make sure all was ok following the recent cyclone. Thank you Cheng.
