Hotel Floryan Old Town

We have been very badly treated by this hotel, booked for a group of family and friends in October 24, for April 25. We have just received an email from the hotel telling us the hotel is closed in April - with a month to go!! Absolutely disgusted.

So where to start positive location is excellent. We booked a twin bedded room as no lifts were on the first floor. Arrived and was refused help with luggage. Arrived in the room could have cried no twin beds a double bed pushed against the wall so whoever was in the inside had to climb over the other person I’d the need to get up in the night no space to walk around it. The sheet sat on top of the bed not big enough to tuck in. The headboard was thick with dust no bedside tables or room for any. Bathroom and shower good. Went downstairs to complain got a shrug. Asked for it to be cleaned and extra pillows was told no not for two days. On the second day I complained again this time more response got the bed made and room dusty. Breakfast was ok on the second day no bread quite literally no bread and what there was the receptionist was handling without tongs. No eggs had to wait for the shop next door to be opened. While location is good I’d never go back nor recommend it’s not what we paid for it expected. It was clearly a single room which they put a double bed in.

Excellent location (very close to the main tourist attractions) but .........Despite having communicated our. arrival at 1.30 am, we had difficulty gaining access. Only after having insistently knocked on the access door to the corridor leading to the reception, an employee came to open the door. The hotel does not have a lift and therefore it is quite tiring to climb the stairs with your luggage to enter the room. also due to the presence of a door leading to the stairs, then to the corridor leading to two rooms on the first floor. Large room and bathroom, approximate cleanliness, little attention to detail (the soap dispenser on the bathroom sink remained empty for all four days of the stay, failure to replace the shower mat) Barely sufficient breakfast (only one type of fruit juice , few desserts) Not being able to have breakfast one morning, we asked for a lunch box. We found enough food but no cutlery. It is not true that the reception is open 24 hours a day. For the entire afternoon and night of 30-4 no one was present. Finally, through no fault of the hotel, there was an excess of noise at night on the weekend. Not worth the price you pay
