Clean, Comfortable… and Home to the Grumpiest waiting staff in Poland. Our group of eight arrived at Hotel Bielany after a five-hour drive, looking forward to a beer, some food and a bit of warmth. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and the food perfectly acceptable. Sadly, the hospitality stopped there. Enter the barman — a 50-something gentleman who appears to have taken a solemn vow never to smile, speak pleasantly, or serve a drink in under half an hour. With only four other guests in the entire dining room, it still took three requests and roughly thirty minutes for our first round to appear. Any attempt to order at the bar was met with a glare, growl and a hand wave that suggested we’d interrupted something sacred — namely, his meal, his phone, or his general state of irritation. The whole experience had a certain Fawlty Towers charm, minus the humour and plus a man seemingly auditioning for “Most Miserable Employee of the Year.” In short: a clean, comfy hotel with decent food ( when it eventually comes) — provided you can overlook the bar being run by someone who clearly wishes the world would leave him to his world of misery in peace. A one man mission to spoil as many guests experiences as possible.

We arrived after a 8 hours of travelling. We were walmly welcomed by Staff. The room was large, bed comfortable and toiletries of good quality. Bottled water was provided as no tea and coffee making facilities. Free parking, free wifi which was fast. The Hotel is a 5 minute walk from a shopping centre which was fun to peruse after a day of travelling. We ate our eveing meal in the Hotel. The food was good and the waitress did her best to ensure everyone got drinks, food etc but she was working alone and the restaurant was busy. Breakfast was a self service hot/cold continental which was plentiful. Both dining rooms were very clean. We felt it was extremely good value for money.

The hotel is located very close to the highway. Therefore it's a good hotel for everybody, who just want to sleep and continue traveling next day. The welcome is very kind. You have to pay the room by arriving at the hotel. The room is big enough and clean. Sleeping with open window isn't possible for everyone because of the noise from the highway. If you need a hotel to stay one night, this hotel is perfect because you won't lose time by driving into the city. There is enough space for your car and you can leave it on the the parking during the day for 25 PLN.
