Babka Tower Suites

When we arrived at the place a bit before 9pm we were met with a closed door. Through the intercom next to the door a man notified us that he won't let us in as it's too late and we should find a different place. On the booking site they assured we would be able to check in until 23:30. When calling their number we were notified that they only reply to messages, however our messages were also ignored. The booking site staff had no luck contacting them either, both by calling and email. We ended up getting refunded by the site, after which we got a horribly written message claiming we arrived after midnight. This is not true, as even our initial message about the problem was sent around 9pm, long before the midnight closing time. Please avoid, and if you happen to also not be let in when you arrive, please remember to contact your hotel provider immediately and explain it to them to ensure you can get a refund.

The reservation was canceled, but we got charged for the whole stay before we entered the room. It was very hard to find the room, or divided apartment, which was in another building with a very rude porter. The room stunk of being so old, the furniture looked like from an old aunt's house. Smelly old wallpaper. Lampshades missing. Dark. The kitchen was old and stunk as well. We could not imagine staying there! Needs remodeling, and deep cleaning badly. We were offered another room, with a similarly terrible old people smell, and old fashioned furniture. The bed was old and uncomfortable. We refused to stay there, explained why, but were not returned the money!!

The entrance to the hotel is confusing and most pics of the hotel that I have seen do not look like the hotel. The Polin Museum is about a mile walk from the hotel. The hotel canceled our reservation the day before we arrived. We never received emails stating they will cancel our reservation if we don't give them our credit card number. They could of waited one more day and they would of seen we showed up. What we saw of the hotel is not where we would of wanted to stay. The hotel did however get us into a hotel across the Street Hotel Maria. I strongly recommend Hotel Maria over the Babka Tower.
