This was probably the best hotel I have ever been. The sevice was outstanding, our room was freshend up several times a day. The old building is beautiful and the garden as well. It gave me Bridgeton vibes. Only thing I would consider is not booking breakfast as there are many breakfast places nearby.

The hotel and its history are grand. The location is superb. It was our first time in Poland— Sopot and Gdansk impressed us. Sopot is beachy (although very breezy and cool while we were there in July, making swimming not possible), and Gdansk has gorgeous architecture and history. We had outstanding food (primarily outside the hotel, though the breakfast is nice), and enjoyed the riviera atmosphere. Antoni, the concierge stands out as very helpful and responsive, arranging a tour and transportation for us with speed, care and commitment. Highly recommend him! The hotel desperately needs renovation. The view and the beds are comfortable, which are the only positives of the rooms. They are outdated, stained and the bathrooms are a joke. Tiny cruise ship sized shower, with poor water pressure. The pool is small, and they should take care to create a much better atmosphere for the spa and pool area. They are dark, small, drab and uninspiring. So, it’s probably more of a 4 star than 5.

We experienced first-class, 5-star service at this hotel. Prior to our arrival, I messaged the Concierge to arrange an airport transfer. They responded very quickly and provided precise details that helped us make our decision. The driver was extremely friendly, spoke great English, drove safely, and gave us excellent tips on what to do in the city. Please note, however, that the airport transfer booked through the hotel was very expensive. Check-in went smoothly, although there were some minor hiccups with the trainee working at the front desk. But then again, everyone has to start somewhere! Our 8-year-old child was welcomed very warmly, and the hotel is overall extremely family-friendly. The breakfast was excellent, offering the option to order separate à la carte dishes in addition to the buffet. We weren't lucky with the weather, so we couldn't spend time at the beach, but the hotel's private beach area for guests looked very nice. The hotel itself exudes old-world charm. It is an old building, and for instance, the rooms have single-pane windows and balcony doors. This is good to keep in mind, especially during the winter season, as the rooms can get cold and drafty. The hotel should definitely pay closer attention to the overall condition and appearance of the property and the rooms. The curtains in our room were full of stains, and the hallway carpets were torn and dirty. When the service is this top-notch, you really hope that a poorly maintained building doesn't drag the experience down. Simply washing and replacing the curtains would go a long way in showing that the old-world spirit is truly cared for and preserved. Our room featured three lovely French balconies, but the doors were in disrepair and loose. We were actually worried they might fly open on their own because they wouldn't stay properly shut in the wind/storm.
