Nice rooms. Fine beds and douche.beautiful grounds. Excellent restaurant. Currently many rooms are being renovated, which sometimes causes a little inconvenience. Swimming pool is out of service. If the renovation is completed absolutely a prime location.

We recently stayed at Aldeia da Fonte on Pico Island and have explicitly booked for a renovated accommodation. This was an important condition for us because of our family situation. Earlier in 2025 we deliberately postponed our trip because the renovations were still ongoing and the reviews at the time were very negative. We only wanted to travel as soon as there were actually renovated accommodations available. Shortly before departure, our travel agent confirmed that the renovation was completed and that we would receive a renovated accommodation. On arrival, this turned out to be completely incorrect. During our stay and upon departure on May 4, not a single room was renovated and the entire resort was still under renovation. What we found was disproportionate to what we were promised. The room was extremely humid, there was visible mold on the walls and the space felt stuffy and unhealthy. This is in line with previous reviews that we had read beforehand, but which we had hoped would resolve by now. These circumstances have had a major negative impact on our holiday and on our travel purpose as a family. The stay did not meet what we could reasonably expect based on the confirmed information. Given that we have explicitly based our booking on the commitment of a completed renovation, we will have this further assessed through our travel agent towards an appropriate solution and compensation. My advice to future travelers: do not rely on general information about renovations, but have written confirmation that the renovation has actually been fully completed.

We went into a phase of changes in the Hotel, we found something that does not belong to nature but initially we were immediately notified. Cozy hotel with very friendly professionals, good breakfast, comfort and cleanliness. Without a doubt we recommend for a few days of rest and leisure.
