Caravelas

We were very lucky as we booked a suite with a sea view so we had one of the best rooms at the front of the hotel with an amazing view of the harbour, sea and other islands. Our room was great, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Lots of selection but not great quality, I loved all of the seeds and nuts along with the granola though! I would definitely recommend the hotel but it needs some updating and we found that they really love a slightly passive aggressive sign! Lots of them around telling you what you can and can’t do which I really dislike. They could also be a bit more generous with the coffee pods for the machine in your room. Pool was lovely and chilled. Great location right next to everything and we would definitely stay again. We absolutely loved our stay on Pico!

Hotel well located, but needs to update its facilities that are very old and outdated. Very ugly pool area, with broken tiles, dark walls, etc. Very bad-humored employees, seeming to be working without the slightest will. Breakfast ok.

Been travelling a few Azores islands, this is a well fitted hotel, but the WiFi is dire.. one person in the family might have a good connection on one day, but then someone else the next, sometimes no connection for anyone. Mobile data in Pico seems hit and miss too .. so some days no ability to plan anything. Staff are OK but, on par with most of people in Madalena will answer a direct question but not offer any suggestions otherwise. For me, go to Pico to climb the mountain, then bale to Horta on Faial for “comforts and relaxation “ .. better still go to San Miguel.. best island so far, and everyone has a simile there.
