Stayed for one night whilst visiting Santa Maria. The hotel is located a little outside of Villa do Porto with plenty of parking at the hotel, easy to access if you have your own transport, but a long walk uphill otherwise; I’d advise renting transport to get the best out of a visit to Santa Maria anyway. The hotel building from the outside looks more like a college than a hotel (with no sign over the entrance) but once inside check-in was quick and efficient. Although I visited at the end of the season there an event on the island so only apartments were available; this consisted of a large bedroom, bathroom and a sitting room with small kitchen area; clean and comfortable with good views of the countryside from the large windows. The bed was comfortable and the WI-FI and shower both worked well. No restaurant, but the bar area served a selection of tasty food (pizza, pasta, burgers etc), as well as both Azorean and Portuguese beers. Pleasant terrace area with a pool outside, Gym onsite (pay separately to use). If you are willing to accept a few quirks (understandable due to the remoteness of Santa Maria) this hotel offers a good base to explore the island at reasonable price, if you’re expecting a four-star luxury resort hotel you’re probably on the wrong island!

Big ugly but convenient unit to visit the island. Great room but insulation is weak. Breakfast of poor quality. Undrinkable coffee. The staff on the whole do not say hello and totally ignore you.

We traveled in August 2025 a group of friends. In thermos xerais, as hotel facilities were in good condition. These rooms were spacious and had private terrace cunha, and exterior furniture had a somewhat worn appearance. Or hotel bump into never quite hilly area, bustling two main points of interest. On the positive side, it has a market center nas s u s installations, or that is moi comfortable for those affected by this activity. However, it does not offer any shuttle service nin own transportation. In addition, there are bus lines na illa, to the nearest stop is a certain distance and o persoal do hotel could not provide us with clear information about the schedules. To get around we opted for taxi polo, an alternative polo that was more comfortable and even cheaper than or hallugueiro of vehicles, I have to consider that only 12 taxis na illa, polo that to availability may be limited at times scored. In canto aos servizos do hotel: Cleanliness: To cleanliness you give correct foi rooms, with special attention to interior, add that as terraces did not receive or same manicured. Lunch: Or lunch offered was buffet type, available from 7:30 to 10:00. A variety was moiscar e a calidade two products, baixa. Cafeteria: It was open from 11:00 to 23:00. Prezos were somewhat elevated and a la carte moi limited, composted mainly by burgers, sandwiches and salads. A qualitye gives food deixaba moito to desex, with little made products. Mesmo as fried potatoes were baggy. Outros servizos: There was no vending machine for auga, soft drinks or snacks, but there was tobacco. Nor was it offered to classic bottle of auga of blessed nas rooms, nin there were products available not minibar. Swimming pool: Pool was clean, with boa temperature. Or hotel offered towels by unha bond of 10 €, plus we were explicitly warned that they could not be taken to praia. Check-out: On departure it was due before 11:00, but we checked that the chaves were deactivated approximately 15 minutes before the time. Customer service: Or treatment received at reception resultedou, at times, uncordial. In short, this is a hotel with acceptable facilities but which has multiple deficiencies in the singing of services, especially its busy location and or size.
