Estalagem dos Clerigos

I stayed here in 2012, and I understand that It was closed in 2013 for commercial reasons, probably too few customers, and in my opinion this is a great pity. The town of Nordeste is a quiet place and so this was a great place to go to to read, walk, swim etc., and there is a new municipal pool for those who find the sea pools daunting. If someone knows more please do correct/update this review So in my opinion the Terra Nostra is a good alternative with a great natural outdoor spa pool

Spent 2 nights here, very quiet village and hotel, 10 guests in total at time of our visit - I'm sure we were outnumbered by staff. Nowhere special to eat in village so eat in twice - excellent food and service. Buffet breakfast was good and set you up for the day.The room and overall style of the hotel was fresh and rustic, beautiful gardens and pool area overlooking village. Room with a fantastic vista over the sea. Recommended if you want total peace.

This hotel was quite a surprise. Nordeste is the farthest town we went to from Ponta Delgado, and we took the mountainous roads to get there. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We had a view of sunrise, the surprise was that there was sun, after so much rain!! The hotel is modern, the dining service was classy, and the food excellent. They have tour buses for lunches and tours of the grounds, but different from Terra Nostra, they have separate function rooms, so that hotel guests aren't inconvenienced.
