The hotel met the expectations for the 3-star category. Not surprising by the offer, but also not disappointing.
Their biggest strengths are undoubtedly the location and structure. With consistent investment and more careful management, it has the potential to easily evolve into a 4-star unit, becoming a benchmark in the area.
The rooms are somewhat outdated and the exterior areas show lack of maintenance. It would be important to invest in painting, removing herbs and cleaning the common spaces more carefully. The pool has an adequate size for the hotel's capacity, but the background is quite slippery and presented some traces of dirt, despite the cleaning carried out during the night. The loungers are visually appealing, but uncomfortable, and felt a lack of umbrellas available during the day. Another aspect to consider is the absence of an elevator.
In contrast, the view is excellent, with a privileged frame on the beach, the sea and the marina. The location is also quite convenient, being a few minutes from local commerce, maritime activities and the famous cheesecake factory of the village.
It is clear that some areas of the hotel have been renovated, namely the reception, which has a modern and very pleasant atmosphere. However, a more comprehensive remodel would significantly value the entire unit.
Breakfast is expected for a 3-star hotel: simple, but enough, though with little variety. The room where it is served offers a magnificent view of the sea. However, the very dirty glass, due to the lack of maintenance of the exterior areas, end up compromising part of this experience.
The team deserves a very positive rating for the sympathy, availability and professionalism demonstrated throughout the stay.
The rooms were clean, with comfortable and scented bedding. The beds provide reasonable comfort. The bathroom has a hairdryer, shower gel, shampoo and soaps. On the other hand, I missed some of the facilities currently common, such as a minibar, kettle or coffee machine, as well as a small welcome service.
Finally, the doors of the rooms still use traditional locks with a physical key. Although functional, they convey a lower sense of security than the current electronic card systems.

Hotel is horrible the air conditioning doesn’t work, pool is under repair, no fridge, you need to get a bathtub plug from reception (which is not explained), the staff say you need to speak to the manager; who is not available….save your money and book in Ponta Delgado unless you want a budget hotel at a higher price.

The hotel itself is OK for the price but ...
The reception is more than hiding and parking is also very little available. The staff is totally overwhelmed and after multiple requests they only react.
I'm not used to that.
And now I come to breakfast
I haven't seen anything like it. What they refer to as coffee is just a broth of water where a few beans have been shot through.
The food is just like anything else among everyone would.
1 cheese 1 ham and only one type of jam.
I can't say anything about the little rolls. Just a shake of the head.
Oh, yeah, yoghurt, I'll give it to you, and the next one, it's over.
Coffee maker hasn't worked for years.
