Casa Da Muralha

What a surprise Casa Da Muralha was. The accommodation was elegant and fitted with furniture and paintings that reflected the age and style of the property. Fantastically situated within the walls of this beautiful town. Christina went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and ensuring we had good recommendations of where to visit. The room was large with a seating area and doors onto the garden. The beds comfortable with extra pillows and blankets available. Breakfast was fresh orange juice, fruit, yoghurts and local cheese plus the local speciality of pastel de Nata. Plus fresh bread and home made jams! I would thoroughly recommend this little gem of a place. We loved the town and the accommodation was great value.

We had a warm welcome from Cristiana. She was very caring, even chasing after us on our way to dinner to remind us that the clocks were going back that night (we had forgotten!). Our room in the garden up against the city wall and under the aquaduct was lovely. Our beds and the other furniture in the room were decorated in Alentejan style. The breakfast was the best we had in Portugal, with fresh bread and pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice and a selection of local cheeses.

Located within town walls, easy to find and park nearby. Converted stables which on a hot day were cool and did not need to use a/c. Great fresh breakfast with local cakes and cheeses. Highly recommended. Very friendly staff.
