And if you think we'll do a nice cup of coffee, you'll have to do your best to get some flavor of that on your tongue. Rooms are musty and humid, the black triangular sewer flies are also encountered and says enough about hygiene. Too bad because there is quite potential. We have been touring for 2 weeks and have seen a lot in Portugal but this is drama.

Beautiful location, very well maintained. We found Room 2 not optimal. We are used to extremely low toilets from Spain, but a sink that is only a hand's breadth above my knee is not well thought out. The room smelled like a basement, and the front glass doors offered a view of the pool from the bed, but anyone at the pool could look directly into our bed. Mirrored glass would be appropriate unless one completely darkens the room with the curtain. Since the room has no other window, it feels like being in a basement. Sorry, but this fact really cost 2 points. Privacy exchanged for basement ambiance. A simple film could certainly solve the problem in some rooms.

We have stayed here 5 times in total, but will not be back. I’ve always had a good rapport with the owner (over email), but she didn’t even seem bothered to reply, prior to our stay. While there, she sent a cleaner down to the pool area to tell us (a group of 4) to be quiet, as long stay guests were trying to read their books. No compromise, no discussion. We have since found a nice spot in Alvor, where all guests are treated with respect, and the food offering is far superior.
