Vila Sao Vicente Boutique Hotel (adults only)

Lovely boutique hotel in the old town. Very warm welcome from front desk who also dealt with a couple of room issues immediately, the breakfast ladies kept the buffet well stocked with plenty of choice. The housekeeping team are exceptional - our room was immaculately clean, & fresh towels provided every day & no annoyingly cards to encourage us to reuse them 'for the environment'. They courteously worked around our comings and goings. Lovely sea view. Highly recommend this hotel

The hotel was acceptable overall, with a reasonable location and a basic continental breakfast each morning. However, there were several disappointments during my stay. The biggest issue was being charged €25 for allegedly damaged bed sheets that were not damaged by me. It took numerous emails and a fair amount of effort to resolve the matter before the hotel finally refunded the charge. While I appreciate that the refund was eventually issued, the situation should not have happened in the first place. The hotel itself felt quite small and dated, with rooms and facilities that could benefit from refurbishment. The swimming pool was also much colder than expected, which made it less enjoyable to use. One positive was that our room had access to a large balcony. Unfortunately, this balcony was shared with the room next door, which reduced privacy and wasn't made particularly clear beforehand. The hotel was also extremely quiet. While some guests may appreciate this, there was very little atmosphere around the property. The bar was consistently empty during our stay, and we never saw anyone having drinks there. Overall, the stay was okay, but the incorrect damage charge, dated facilities, cold pool, lack of balcony privacy, and absence of any real atmosphere left a negative impression.

It is a beautifully located hotel, if we went for breakfast, you were already zen of the view. The hotel is clean with beautiful rooms. There are also some smaller rooms, but we were lucky, partly due to the effort of the staff, that we had a beautiful room with a nice balcony and sea view and the new albufeira. The staff will do anything for you. Breakfast is fine. Lots of fresh fruit, yogurt, delicious sandwiches, choice plenty of everything. It's just a good hotel. Think about the location. It is still some steps and slopes before you get to the beach or the center, but .. it is definitely doable and worth it
