Dos Templarios

We stopped at this hotel on a group tour. The hotel is located in a park, very quiet, on the outskirts of Tomar. It has large common areas, a large bar and a spacious dining room as well as a small pool. The breakfast selection was extremely rich and varied. The staff at dinner was attentive and friendly. The rooms are large, with a balcony, and the bathrooms are equipped with both a bathtub and a shower. The decor/furnishings and the carpet need a refresh, and some tiles in the bathroom had also seen better days. Everything was a bit worn, but clean.

This was our last stop on a two week trip around Portugal. Reception staff were friendly and gave advice on where to go. We had a very spacious room and a large full bathroom and balcony. Secure parking is included in the hotel grounds. We had very limited time to explore the Convent of Christ, and walk around the old town in the late afternoon. We ate dinner at a small family run restaurant in the old town. The substantial buffet breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold options. The hotel is good value and is definitely recommended. We had just enough time to visit the restored medieval Synagogue before leaving Tomar for Lisbon.
