I did not like it at all; the location of the hotel was terrible. The pool was uncomfortable, with little space, and children constantly splashed you. I needed to leave some bars in the hotel freezer because I was traveling with a vaccine; I had to go to the cafeteria and wait a long time for an employee to arrive who made us sign a document. The collection of the bars was even worse; I ended up sneaking into the cafeteria and taking them directly from the freezer. The bathroom is very old, making it difficult for elderly people to enter the bathtub to take a shower. In its favor, I will say that the beds are very comfortable and the room is spacious.

I warn all drivers, especially those with new or medium/large vehicles, to avoid the underground park of this hotel. The area of exit and access to the canals presents serious deficiencies in the level of engineering and road safety: the ramp is extremely dull, there is a central pillar that generates a total dead angle and there is an absolute absence of priority visibility mirrors or signaling. I was confronted with another vehicle in reverse direction and, in the face of the physical impossibility of crossing and to avoid an imminent frontal collision, I saw myself in the contingent of performing an emergency manoeuvre. The result was severe material damage on the side and front of the car of my company, a Cupra Terramar registered a few months ago. The walls and the central pillar are filled with deep and old scrap and marks, which constitutes an empirical testimony that this is a chronic problem and that the infrastructure often induces customers into error and clash. The hotel is fully aware of the operational risk of the space and neglects it. To make the situation worse, the response of the Director General, Sara Palhota, highlighted the lack of suitability and institutional irresponsibility, ruling out any causal link and suggesting "lack of prudence". They also admitted in writing that that vulnerable area does not even have CCTV coverage. It is unacceptable for a 4-star unit to penalize the activities of companies and private customers due to serious deficiencies in their infrastructure and to present such a mediocre after-sales service. A deplorable experience that seriously compromises the brand’s reputation.

I had a very pleasant stay at Vila Galé Coimbra. What stood out the most was the kindness and professionalism of the staff, who always made us feel welcome. The hotel has a warm, family-friendly atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. It's the kind of place where the human touch really makes a difference.
