Hotel Jorge V

Hotel a walk from centre about 20 minutes up a slight hill of the main avenue rooms a little outdated fairly clean our room was small but adequate for a couple of nights if staying longer I’d go closer city centre and upgrade to one a little better breakfast was sufficient to get you through to lunch, plenty of places to eat around hotel we didn’t spend a lot of time in hotel we was out and about but if we did would of wanted a little better facilities etc but ok for couple of nights shower not that good and bathroom dated small same as room otherwise ok for money you get what you pay for

Excellent little situated just off the Liberty Avenue within short walking distance of Rossio Square. Rooms were clean, modern and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived late at night and our transfer didn't turn up and when we got to they hotel they told us there was an overbooking. They asked if they wanted us to book them in another hotel for the night or if we wanted to stay in a basement room for the night. As it was late we chose the basement room. As recompense they offered us a meal on them and drinks for the night. The next morning our bags were taken up to our proper room. I have no complaints with the hotel. They managed the situation well. Breakfast is available - it's basic and the breakfast room is small - but the food was good. I'd happily stay there again.

To start with the positives. This hotel has very friendly staff and the rooms are very spacious. Breakfast was also really good, although they were not able even to serve me a cup of coffee before I had to check out early on the last day. The biggest negative is that the beds are really springy and need updating. Maybe if this hotel was in the centre it could get away with some of these things. However as it's 30 minutes walk you would be better off paying a bit more for a central location.
