Residencial Castromira

We have checked in the main building but were sent to a building opposite.Location is very near to metro station and walking distance to the city centre. Good value for money. The girl during the day at the reception was very helpful and organised an early taxi for us.Negative points are that it is very noisy because no double glazing windows, you can hear all the cars and buses passing. If your room is on the 1st floor next to the reception,you can hear all the time people ringing the door bell at the entrance to get in so quite annoying at night when you want to sleep.

Though I had heard that the location of the hostel is quite full of robbers and drug addicts, I had a nice time there. I was warned that I should not wonder around it in night but actually that was never a problem! Location is near to the center and you have subway right next to it. Staff was really helpful - they spoke english, though with some difficulties, but it wasn't hard to understand them. They even helped us with calling taxi at night to get to the airport (and it was quite cheap to get there - just around 9 euros). Rooms are being cleaned every day. It was really clean and nice place. The only problem - street right next to the hostel is very noisy and it was hard to sleep with opened window. Of course, it's not a palace, but still you get what you pay for and for that money - it was really good. And one more thing - though there should be wifi in the rooms, in our roome the signal was so bad that it was almost impossible to use it...

Is a classic hotel for a few days visit. Its ideal for moving around. But do not expect anything more. We visited during Christmas period and it was a value for money hotel. Try it if you are going with friends.
