Promised upgraded view and then didn’t deliver. We ended up being overcharged for the promised upgrades

Compared to most of my recent Radisson hotel stays, Radisson Blu Lisbon definitely is on the older and tired side. Everything from the lobby to the guest rooms have clearly past its prime, and many of the outlets and even lights no longer worked. The staffs are kind and helpful, and it was nice to have staffs to assist with bags. For once, I was able to interact with real humans, unlike other Radisson hotels lately. I paid 10 Euro for an airport view room and it was not disappointing as an AvGeek. I was also upgraded a high floor "junior suite maybe" room too and the staff gave me an early check in. The room itself was spacious but really lacked all the modern amenities that I expect. There is no bedside charging units and please bring your EU compliance power outlets. The bathrooms are huge with dual sinks, a bathtub, and a shower cubicle. The view is okay and I am able to open the window, which is good for taking photos of plane landing.
In terms of neighborhood, it is located close to the airport and is only a 5 minutes ride to hotel, but there is no shuttle. While Lisbon is a small city, you have to use car ride or metro to get to the tourist attraction. This hotel is really an airport hotel. There is a Chinese restaurant next door and some kinds of museums nearby but don't expect much to do within five and ten minutes of walking. It is located next to a major motorway, so if you need to be closed to the city, choose other hotels. Radisson Blu Lisbon is a good airport hotel if you has an early departure or late arrival, so if you choose to stay here, please manage your expectation reasonably.
I had two meals at the hotel - both lunch and dinner (no breakfast since I had an early flight). I would not say that it is fine dining but is pretty decent. The staffs are friendly enough. I also used the gym, which was okay. I have no problem staying here again if I have an early or late flight. But if I need to be in the city a bit longer, I will choose a hotel at the city center.

Enjoyed my over night stop in Lisbon after arriving late from London. Slept like a log on a very comfortable bed in an air conditioned room and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast in the morning. Staff were all very approachable and friendly, felt like I was properly looked after.
