The Charm of Cascais

Loved our weeks stay here. Nov 2019. Excellent breakfast lovely room, nothing was too much trouble. Staff and owners made us feel very welcome, they even arranged to put the rugby World Cup final on for us. WiFi was a bit patchy at times in our room. A great base for exploring Cascais and surrounding area. Great train service into Lisbon, a fantastic vibrant city. It’s a 15 to 20 minute walk into the centre of Cascais where there are numerous shops, restaurants and places of interests.

Stayed several nights and service was very friendly and helpful. The house provides a homely feel with relaxing areas and a large swimming pool with lounges. It is out of town area but quiet. Walking to and fro from old town area was not a problem. Rooms comfortable and spacious. Overall very accomodating staff.

With only eight rooms of varying size, this is a very personal and wonderfully run small hotel with a real 'family' feel, managed by very attentive and friendly staff. Good sized room with a patio onto the pool area, sufficient sun loungers and umbrellas, and a nice pool to relax in. Breakfast, served inside or outside, is really excellent, with many food choices including fresh fruit and cakes etc. Happy hour is also great fun. Only a couple of minor points - it is a walk of over twenty minutes into town (but Uber @ 3 Euros is great), and the hotel location is just by a roundabout with roads on two sides of it, so traffic noise is just in the background. Also one or two room fittings (bathroom mirror, extractor fan and TV) could do with updating. Finally no fridge or tea making facilities in the room. Overall a special and welcoming place to stay, and the very best personal service
