Lovely friendly staff. Breakfast had plenty of choice - cheeses, hams, fresh fruit, pastries, cereal & full English. Only had 1 evening meal at Madeira night, a buffet along with folk group singing & dancing.
Beds comfortable & a big room with kitchen, ( microwave, kettle,2 hobs, fridge, plus crockery & cutlery. ) Balcony looked onto sea ( on 7th floor) but rails quite rusty.
The only let down was the cracked & mouldy tiles in the bathroom Bath was very slippery, & the extra long shower curtain didn't help. Definitely need a non slip mat in bath, also a shelf to put your toiletries.
Pol good with separate toddlers pool. Never had a problem getting a sunbed, although not very comfortable as no mattresses on them. Also there is a shaded part with tables & chairs.
Buses to centre are 4-5 mins away down steps, along with the tourist Hop On Bus. Supermarket & restaurants & taxi's very near as well.
Madeira is not a very good place to visit if you have mobility problems, it is very steep & hilly.
