A wonderful stay in Madeira. We really enjoyed staying at this hotel , food was great , staff fantastic. The Piano bar was our preferred bar . Though the pool was busy we never struggled to get a bed even later in the day . We had a room on the 6th floor which was perfect . We booked hikes through the hotel and had a really knowledgeable guide Bruno we did the PR1 which was classed as difficult yes it’s at high heights but more than manageable with a decent amount of fitness. The only downside at the hotel for 5 star the gym was really outdated and if you enjoy a holiday workout I think you’ll be disappointed. The hotel is in a great location and I used a local reformer Pilates studio rather than the gym .

Just back from a fabulous week at Enotel Lido. Can honestly say the hotel had the greatest staff of anywhere we have ever stayed. Always polite and friendly and busy tidying and fixing chairs etc throughout the day. The people of Maderia in general were also extremely welcoming and friendly while we were out and about. We generally eat out some nights when away, but the food was so good in the Atlantico (buffet) restaurant that we didn't on this holiday. As a vegetarian the range of foods was amazing. Normally while away I create a dinner from the general accompaniments such as salad, fries etc but every night at Enotel there were several dedicated vegetarian/vegan meals to choose from. All were delicious and the fact I had a choice was amazing. Hubby equally agreed that the food for meat/fish eaters was just as good. We ate lunch at the pool bar once or twice and that was equally impressive with delicious pizza, veg spring rolls, make your own burgers to name but a few. Thank you to all those involved. Evening entertainment was fairly low key but certainly watchable. Just dont expect big shows as more low key singers etc. There are several places to sit with a drink in the evening and we especially enjoyed the white chairs overlooking the sea in the indoor garden section. Maderian folklore evening was very enjoyable. Good range of alcoholic drinks and never had to wait long to be served. Pool area very clean and always sunbeds with a parasol available regardless of time. All in all a fantastic holiday and we would certainly return and recommend.

Hi, My Wife & I, on arrival, were very impressed. Check in was very quick. Olidia on reception was exceptional during our stay, (Thank You for your efforts). We booked a Superior Family Room side sea view. Olidia noticed I was in a wheelchair, she informed us the room that was allocated contained a bath which of course was no good for me. ( When booking we had asked for a room with a walk in shower) I asked about an adapted room and she informed us that it would be a downgrade from what we had booked, she immediately changed us to a Top Floor Family Room 1077. Which we liked, but then the pitfalls started. Space for a wheelchair was limited, the bathroom access was an obstacle, the walk in shower had a small step into it with no grab rails. I requested a chair for the shower which was instantly provided but still an effort for me to take a shower. We liked the room, so decided to stay put, I adapted to the room, which became easier throughout our stay. Just one more thing about the room which was sea facing with a big balcony (which I could not access due to a step) it did not get any sun at all during our week (last week in June). That's the room out of the way. The hotel itself is fantastic, the ramps inside are a bit steep, you may need a push, if you are in a manual wheelchair. Olidia made arrangements for me to hire an electric wheelchair which made it easier for me to get around. The food we could not fault, plenty for everyone's taste. The staff are always on hand. The entertainment was good throughout our week. On the whole a good stay, if you are in a wheelchair I would suggest you try an adapted room, I can't comment on one. Sorry. The location of the hotel for a wheelchair user is a bit too far out of Funchal although we did manage to walk it into the marina (well my Wife walked I was in my electric wheelchair), if you want to try it, be aware of the side walks, they are very uneven. Taxis are always available. There is access from the rear of the hotel straight onto the prom, but there is no off ramp for wheelchairs, I managed to stand on my one leg and a stranger helped my wife lift the wheelchair onto the flat. Summing up, the island is stunning but not very disabled friendly, taxis are your best mode of transport.
