Hotel Vila Baleira

My experience at this hotel was very disappointing, especially due to the service at the Dunas. The head Sónia spends the day displaying itself in the conversation and does not cooperate with the team members, makes comments about the guests and neither has the desensia to behave as such. The team showed a lack of professionalism, little availability to help and give correct information and an unhealthy attitude, which made the stay rather unpleasant. I expected a much better service, especially from a hotel that intends to provide a quality service. Unfortunately, I did not feel well received or appreciated as a customer. Based on this experience, I do not recommend this hotel and will hardly return.

We spent a week at this village, it offers 3 restaurants: one open and 2 with reservations for both lunch and dinner, the food is good but always the same; the pool is nice but crowded, the beach is stunning but with broken sun loungers (cost €25 per day). The staff is very nice and helpful, the rooms are large and clean. At the hotel, you can rent bicycles, scooters, and cars at the same prices as in the center. The property is well-maintained and we had a good time, recommended.

Very beautiful property (I stayed at the Hotel Vila Baleira), very clean and with plenty of staff always active. Wonderful golden sand beach (the walk to Calheta is beautiful). Beautiful ocean, a bit rough the first few days but then calm like the Mediterranean. We went on various excursions, including the rubber boat (we did some snorkeling), the jeep safari (south of the island), and historic Porto Santo (north of the island). On our own, we went to the natural pools (Porto das Salemas) by taxi (€15 to go and €15 to return): very beautiful, it is important to go there at low tide and with water shoes, you walk on a slope for 15 minutes. We did the Top Futura and it wasn't worth it: we would have spent less if we had bought the beach and excursion on-site. Access to the restaurants is open to everyone upon reservation and the welcome cookies + fruit are irrelevant. We did not participate in the entertainment activities but the guys were always active and never intrusive. Overall it was a beautiful vacation, I would go back immediately!!
