Minutes away from the airport, but a world away. Quiet is the key word, you could easily imagine that you were waaaay out in the country. I stayed 2 days in the "chalet" a nicely updated 2 story stone cottage. It was tastefully and eclectically appointed with a mix of antiques and modern fixtures. A small kitchen with a cooking surface, microwave, cookware, utensils and glassware! Cozy does not do it justice. My only regret is that I did not book my entire Madeiran stay here.

A little gem! This small hotel is a quiet haven. A place of relaxation with a large garden overlooking the valley and mountains. Comfortable room (a bit hard beds for my taste), good breakfast and good dinner. The living room has comfortable armchairs / sofas where you can nicely end the day. And not least - friendly and helpful staff who really care about you having a great time at this small hotel. We will gladly come back and can warmly recommend you to stay here a few nights while in Madeira.

All fine, clean, very nice staff and fantastic, quiet location in the mountains above Santa Cruz.
Top price-performance ratio. Good hideaway to quickly get to the northeast coast, south side and to Funcal. Fine Levada walks nearby.
Unconditional restaurant recommendation: Sol Verde in Santa Cruz. More will not be revealed, but the Hessian bath salt friends will understand.
Very special...
