Clube Pinhal da Foz

Our first time in portugal and we stayed at clube pinhal da foz. The units are good size with private bedroom and full kitchen Reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Food at the tapas bar is excellent. My only complaint about the room is the bed is extremely hard and made sleeping a little difficult. One complaint i had is they charge 20 euros to use the sauna. I feel the sauna would be a part of the stay and not an add on. I declined using the sauna. The fitness and game rooms were closed. One night we coked dinner in our room and had some smoke that set off the smoke alarm. The alarm was in the reception area and not in our room. This seems like a very big safety issue. the owners should change this immediately and make sure there is an alarm in the room not just the reception area. One other complaint is as the food is very good it is only for dinner. It would be nice to have breakfast and lunch options especially since it is listed on their website that they do. It was noticeable that the owners are doing improvements to the facility so these problems might be temporary. Overall we had a wonderful time and would highly recomment this property.

Great staff who were very welcoming and helpful. Lovely tapas restaurant, great food and friendly service. Great location, lots of restaurants within walking distance. Was not pleased with the cleanliness, could have done with a vacuum. Sofa bed not suitable for seven days of sleep, the pull out element was basically a wooden drawer with a very thin mattress and the other person just sleeps on the sofa itself. Needed more storage in terms of drawers. We did stay in February in quite poor weather; I do think in sunny weather the apartment would have been more suitable, with use of the balcony and patio area. As it was, it felt small for four adults.

We absolutely loved staying here. The units are well equipped and cozy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The onsite tapas bar is a great place to unwind and enjoy a few drinks and tapas.
