A very modest hotel for 52 euros per night. Alya Soviet sanatorium, in the worst way. Pakistanis and Romanians clean, changed towels once in 9 days and added a roll of toilet paper. Roughly speaking, there was no cleaning at all. Breakfast is X, but don't think it's good. The staff is not friendly, there are not enough seats in the dining room, I had to eat with people I don't know, not very comfortable. The sea view rooms have a bar downstairs, so don't count on a good night's sleep. Sometimes the music played till 5 a.m.

We were at the Orpheus Hotel for a chess tournament, the hotel disappointed. It's dirty around the hotel, burnt grass with dog poop. Next to the garbage can, at night a garbage collector comes, loads the garbage, makes noise, the glass rings and the bang. The hotel has small, poorly furnished rooms. In the seams of the bathroom tiles are mold and dirt, the bowl of the bathroom is old and yellow. The double room only has 2 outlets. Weak shared light in the room. The service is terrible! Immediately they asked to change two towels, one with traces of paint and the other as if they had been dusted. Then water started dripping on the head of the bathroom, the bathroom drainage became blocked on top. I begged for a long time to call the plumber, in the evening they didn't want to bother the upstairs neighbor at all, even though I had water poured over my head by a stream. No cleaning at all. Can dust with a mop on request. The bedroom hasn't been changed in 10 days, barely fished them out and asked. Trash is rarely taken out, the bin is small and broken. She saw the janitors on the floors three times, at most they gave toilet paper and soap, and changed towels upon request. No system room cleaning! There's a bad manager at the hotel because nobody's doing their job. Total anarchy. From the pleasant - proximity to the sea and breakfast in the morning, but the menu is the same day by day: eggs, bacon, salads, baked buns (they are immediately taken apart). For that kind of money, look for an apartment where you do your own laundry and cleaning, because there is no service in Orpheus. For two bunks and a nightstand, it's stupid to pay that kind of money. + Our room hasn't had a fridge yet, neither have our friends. Last year the chess tournament was in Ephoria Nord, we liked both the service and prices much more. Mamaia is an unnecessarily expensive resort and no service.

We spent 2 weeks in Hotel Orfeu. The hotel is old and run down. It is close to the beach but honestly, that is true for any hotel in Mamaia. Our room was small, shampoo was not replaced and beds were not made. We had a view on the beach but also on the nearby "mall", giving quite some noise. The matresses were the only thing that stood out positive; they were nice. But the food.... we had an all inclusive arrangement meaning breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch and dinner was basically the same buffet with very few daily changes. We ate dry meat, dry fish, undercooked fries and overcooked rice for 14 days. No variation, extremely poor taste and unappealing. 2 weeks, twice a day. You wonder if they have a deal with nearby restaurants; half of the group was found eating out every day to escape the food. Breakfast was the same buffet every day. Not as bad as lunch and dinner but not good either. Don't go to Orfeu and if you go; avoid their "food" at all costs.
