Our first overnight stay in Romania, in this hotel. It is in a prime location in the middle of the city, but is quite cheap, at least according to Google. The building doesn't do much from the outside, but inside there is a nice lobby. The check in was quite fast with our small group. There are two lifts available for 5 floors. Next to the obligatory restaurant there is a bar. Either way, there's a shift in the shaft at 10:00. Although I notice the English is rather modest for a city of this size. But you get through. The room offers a wooden décor, and has virtually no residential traces. The carpeting fits. There is an in-room safe, and a minibar, which is empty except for two bottles of water but yawning. While quickly zapping through the TV I even found a German channel. The blackout and soundproofing, both between the rooms and facing the street, is okay. Even if I would have preferred blinds to curtains. Somewhat tricky was the air conditioning, which is provided with a sign (unfortunately not in English), which I had to translate first. It can only be turned on when the window is closed. Then she's humming. So it is best to cool down to full speed, and switch off before sleeping (in the quite comfortable bed). Switches, lights and sockets should all work. The time was short for closer scrutiny. The bathroom notices damage to the door, as well as the very soft and cheap-looking seat of the toilet. Bathtub and shower are combined, a shower curtain keeps you halfway tight. There are a few marks on the shower head, but the nozzles are clear. The water needs something until it is at temperature, for the 5th. Stock is that (and the pressure) okay. Shower room is provided, and there are numerous shelves, which pleases me. The water temperature is also kept exactly, which is not a given. At breakfast falls on the only white bread. And a little traffic jam in front of the only coffee machine. Otherwise I am positively surprised by the offer. Sausage, cheese, spread sausage, spread cheese, egg, omelette. There are also two cakes, juices, and sausages. It's all pretty neat. I'm actually positively surprised, although a lot could be a little better, but I think I'm not so wrong with 4/5.

We had a family emergency in Baia Mare and this property offered us a real home away from home. The room was very clean, spacious, with 2 large bathrooms very well equipped with everything one needs, coffee machines with pods , tea maker and daily complimentary bottled water, very comfortable bed. The daily complimentary breakfast was bountiful, hot and cold dishes,coffee and teas, plus they would make us breakfast to order as well. Very accommodating front desk personnel Lucia and Vlad with a lot of suggestions about places to see or things to do. Parking was with easy access, on premises. Truly the best place to lodge when in Baia Mare for quality of service , hospitality of personnel and location, walking distance to everything this city has to offer including some exceptional restaurants. Took a long weekend trip to baia mare for the wedding of some friends. The hotel was very nice with the best customer service (they even ironed my suit etc while I was getting ready due to delays at the UK airport making me extremely late). I then travel by taxi to my friends apartment where his family treated me like one of there own. After the wedding I had several nights out with the grooms family and everyone I met wether there friends or complete strangers were so nice. During my days out alone walking around the city I always felt safe and all the people seemed so friendly and helpful. So trip over and time to go home and the the English speaking locals even explained to the bus driver where I needed to go. This place is so beautiful and the people so friendly. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to see the real romania to visit baia mare. You won't be disappointed.
