Savoy Hotel

The Savoy Hotel has been our preferred accommodation in Timisoara for several years. This year was our sixth stay here. Quietly located, but very central - unlike the larger hotels, where it can get loud. Ideally located for us between the center and the old town on one side, and Josefstadt and Elisabethstadt on the other, almost directly on the banks of the Bega River with the boat dock and numerous dining options along the Bega. The reception is staffed continuously, smaller problems are resolved immediately, and small requests are fulfilled right away. We cannot comment on breakfast, as we have never taken advantage of it - there are simply too many culinary options in the immediate vicinity.

Very good hotel. The location is great, 5 minutes to the cathedral. The building seems to be renovated recently so everything is nice and modern. The room was good size, clean, quiet, well supplied. They have a few parking spots right in front of the hotel and ample parking on the below-ground level. The parking is free. Good breakfast with decent selection of foodstuffs. Terrific staff, friendly and helpful. And Timisoara turned out to be a nice city.
