Bagration

This hotel is tucked away and a little further from the main road - ref to main pic. The hotel building is all red brick. The lobby and corridors have seen better days and are remiscent of a past era. As we were travelling with a group of friends, and this hotel was booked by our agent, we were pleasantly surprised upon check in with some rooms and equally dissapointed with the others! The lobby is outdated but the inhouse cafe renovated to be chic and trendy. Some rooms were very thoughtfully refurbished with all ammenities and spaciousness combined, which fortunate for us was a very decent stay! However, some friends recieved older rooms with pealing wallpaper and a musky smell, ( refer to the single room pic ) thus I have rated this stay as average. It's quite a shame as the newly refurbished rooms do rate better then average. There is a water station on every floor, and tea and creamer sachets in every room and breakfast was good, deserving of mention. If you are staying here ask for a recently refurbished room. It will make a big difference.

Location is good : 15 minutes walk to metro 25 minutes walk to red square passing by nice and interesting buildings. Newly renovated and spacious rooms all clean and reasonable equipped (eg. coffee/tea maker). Breakfast in terms of variety is pretty ok - once the hotel is highly booked there are some problems with refilling. Reception / front desk speaking English could be more proactive with tips and tricks (eg. No restaurant close by recommendation)

A little hard to find but great location. Staff really friendly and rooms spacious, all that you need. Hotel provides meals and has a bar. Red square, kremlin, Gum, all within a 20-30 min walking distance. Local Georgian resturant just around the corner serving traditional and great food. Would certainly stay here again.
